First Sermon:

Fear Allah, O servants of Allah and know that piety is the best quality and attribute at time of adversities through which one reaches Paradise and attains Allah's Pleasure. Allah says: "Such is the Paradise which We shall give as an inheritance to those of Our slaves who have been Al-Muttaqûn (the pious)." (Surah Mariam, 19:63)

Dear Muslims! When an event occurs, every common person asks: What happened? Why did it happen? How did it happen? After the event, the wise and noble people only ask: What will happen after the event? They think, account, analyze, follow up and conduct researches and studies that link the results with the premises and find relations between the reasons and their causes especially what is related to religion and to the society's security, what threatens the stability of nations and environments, what hinders building civilizations and what tampers with traditions and customs. All of this with the aim of enhancing the ability of having an accurate diagnosis of the disease and reaching a perfect cure.

Dear Muslims! The observer of the chronic diseases in the nation will see in the mournful land, the traces of illusions jumping in false dreams. When the observer gets closer, he finds a deviant group of misguided people with weak souls and wrong opinions who are full of complexes and who follow their whims. They violate peoples' lives, shedding blood, killing the innocent and causing destruction and shame to the country in addition to the offence they brought to Islam.

One may be amazed of the misguidance of those minds which forgot about what is logical and what is taken from the Qur'an and Sunnah. One may sadly ask: Why do those people still live in ignorance and do not listen to the call of heaven which has sanctified man's life and protected him from immoderation? Why are these people still prisoners of the misleading ideas and followers of immoderate waves? Is it the blindness of mind and insight or shallowness of knowledge and education or lack of awareness and knowledge or falsity of slogans and evils? Is it ignorance, rashness and pride and they think they are doing well or is it due to psychological and social pressure, or what?!

Dear believers! A cry was heard with the moans of the nation sealed with the blood of its people. It was uttered with its sad wounds on the morning of the day of the disaster and atrocious crime which befell Riyadh, the capital of glory, creed, peace, security, love and brotherhood, civilization and honor. Is there any reward for good other than good?

A series of events continue to take place in Saudi Arabia which bewilder Muslims and leave them unable to describe what is going on. The atrocious events that occurred in Riyadh were carried out by some traitors whose hearts are filled with envy and aggression. They did not appreciate these blessings and virtues and committed evil acts following the footsteps of Satan near the sacred city of Makkah. A series of crimes followed in Riyadh, Madinah and Ha’il. All of these actions formed a terrorist act refused by Allah, his Messenger and the righteous believers in this country and in all countries. How can anyone accept what happened last Saturday night? A deviating group shot some believing policemen who were performing their duty of frustrating the criminal endeavors of the group which had taken one of the buildings of the city to manufacture, collect and hide weapons and tools of destruction.

Dear brothers! These atrocious actions are not accepted by any truthful believer who fears torment in the Hereafter and seeks the mercy of Allah. Any wise person and anyone who has knowledge will not accept it, let alone permit it, approve of it or provoke it. Are not those policemen who were shot Muslims?

This is treason and perfidy. Allah the Exalted says: "Allah does not like anyone who is a betrayer, sinner." (Surah Al-Nisa', 4:107) It is also an act of frightening secured people. Our educational curricula fight this type of crime, our scholars attack it, the Imams of the Two Sacred Mosques condemn it and the whole society attacks it. Our religious curricula are based on the Right Words of Allah "The Qur'an" and Sunnah which leads to the good of people and do not cause any harm. If any one went to extremes, he could bear the consequences of his work and nobody else will bear it instead. Allah says: "That no burdened person (with sins) shall bear the burden (sins) of another." (Surah Al-An‘am, 6:164) and says: "and whoever earns a sin, he earns it only against himself. And Allah is Ever All-Knowing, All-Wise." (Surah Al-Nisa', 4:111) Do all the bees die if only a group eat a poisonous fruit?

The ruler of this country stays on guard against those who kill, destroy and tamper with the security because the Islamic Shari‘ah protects peoples' blood, wealth and rights.

The initial overt Islamic situation which should be shared by all Muslims is to reject, condemn and declare this action unlawful. Shari‘ah protects one's security and blood. ‘Abdullah ibn Mas‘ud reported that the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) said: "It is not permissible to take the life of a Muslim who bears testimony (to the fact that) there is no god but Allah, and I am the Messenger of Allah, but in one of three cases; (in case of) a married adulterer, a life for life, and the deserter of his Deen (Islam), abandoning the community." [Related by Muslim]

The Prophet (peace be upon him) also said: "The passing away of the world would mean less to Allah than the murder of a Muslim." [Related by Al-Tirmidhi and Al-Nasa'i]

He (peace be upon him) also said: "A faithful believer remains at liberty regarding his religion unless he kills somebody unlawfully."

It is forbidden to violate a Muslim's blood, wealth or honor. Islam protects peoples' blood, wealth and honor and they are not to be lawful except in what Allah has made lawful. The Prophet (peace be upon him) said: "The blood, honor and property of a Muslim are inviolable for another Muslim."

Ibn ‘Umar once looked at the Ka‘bah and said: "How great you are and how great is your sanctity. But a believer's sanctity to Allah is greater than yours." [Related by Al-Tirmidhi]

Killing a Muslim without a right is considered one of the major sins and the killer is threatened with punishment. Allah forbade killing without a right when He says: "And do not kill the soul which Allah has forbidden, except by right." (Surah Al-An‘am, 6:151)

As a means of protecting the innocent Muslim soul from being killed with no right, the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) forbade pointing to a Muslim with a weapon even if it was a way of kidding, to deter the evil which could harm any of them. Abu Hurairah reported that the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) said: "None amongst you should point a weapon towards his brother, for he does not know that Satan might cause the weapon (to slip) from his hand and (he may injure anyone) and thus he may fall into Hellfire." [Related by Al-Bukhari]

In another narration by Muslim, Abul-Qasim (the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him)) said: "He who pointes a weapon towards his brother, the angels invoke curses upon him until he drops it, even if he is his real brother."

The Prophet (peace be upon him) forbade just pointing with a weapon to a Muslim even if it was for fun and even if it was with the real brother because it could hurt any of them. What about those who plant bombs to kill innocent Muslims? An act that will kill dozens, injure hundreds and frighten thousands. What about those who kill young children, women and old people who have not committed any crime? The one who does so will face the severest punishment. Allah says: "And whoever kills a believer intentionally, his recompense is Hell to abide therein; and the Wrath and the Curse of Allah are upon him, and a great punishment is prepared for him." (Surah Al-Nisa', 4:93)

Thus, every act of sabotage threatening the security of people is considered a violation to the laws of Islamic Shari‘ah which stipulates protecting the blood of Muslims and non-Muslims living under the protection of Muslims. Violence leads only to sabotage and corruption. Violence leads to the opposite of its goals. All feelings and ideas disapprove of such actions and denounce those who commit them. These acts are the sign of deviation and the evidence of isolation.

Spreading terror and fear in society is considered a great corruption. The Prophet (peace be upon him) said: "It is not lawful for a Muslim to frighten another Muslim." [Related by Abu Dawud]

Security is a legislative demand and a divine gift which Allah has granted to His servants as mentioned in his book: "So let them worship (Allah) the Lord of this House (the Ka‘bah in Makkah). (He) Who has fed them against hunger, and has made them safe from fear." (Surah Quraish, 106:3-4)

Preserving security is the responsibility of leaders and people as well. We do not just mean the physical security but also the security of minds and preventing evil. The basic way for keeping security is to believe in Allah, apply the Islamic Shari‘ah, follow the orders of The Qur’an and Sunnah and protecting society from whatever is against it. Allah the Exalted says: "It is those who believe (in the Oneness of Allah and worship none but Him Alone) and confuse not their belief with Zulm (wrong i.e. by worshipping others besides Allah), for them (only) there is security and they are the guided." (Surah Al-An‘am, 6:82)

In the shade of security, people go to pray in the mosque and prayers are established, wealth and honor are protected, streets are safe, good deeds spread, prosperity prevails and Da‘wah spreads. The opposite will happen if there is no security. Let us all be soldiers keeping security, whether of minds or bodies. To fulfill this aim, we start by applying Islamic Shari‘ah in our dealings, our houses and our society.

O people! Keeping the security of your country is a duty on everyone and every Muslim who knows that someone is planning to perform destructive acts is obliged to inform the authorities to prevent this danger and it is forbidden to cover for him.

May Allah protect the religion and security of this country and keep it safe from evil plots of enviers and may Allah increase its unity and amity. May Allah protect the land of the two Sacred Mosques, the land of creed and faith. Saudi Arabia becomes stronger after crises and may it remain, Allah willing, a symbol to be followed in security and faith. May Allah disgrace its enemies and may the acts of criminal aggressors be foiled. May Allah protect our country and all Muslim countries from the evil of the wicked, for He is the best One asked and the Most Generous One.

I ask Allah to forgive me and you out of His Bounty. Seek His forgiveness and repent to Him, for Allah is Oft-Forgiving and Most Merciful.

Second Sermon:

Praise be to Allah, the One, the Omnipotent, Who promised the pious Paradise under which rivers flow and threatened those who deviate from his Shari‘ah the punishment of the Hellfire which is the worst place for rest. Praise be to Allah who disappointed those who intended evil to this country. I testify that there is no god but Allah hoping that He will forgive our sins. I testify that our Prophet Muhammad is the servant of Allah and His selected Messenger. May peace be upon him, his family and his Companions who are known for their reverence and upon those who followed them on the right way until the Day of Resurrection.

Fear Allah, O servants of Allah! Each good deed done with piety will be elevated. Stick to the Islamic community because the Hand of Allah is with the community and whoever strays will remain away from religion to no where but Hellfire.

Dear Muslims! The Islamic world is targeted. Saudi Arabia in particular is targeted in its religion, security, unity and resources. We must not give those the chance and we should maintain the traditions of Da‘wah and of the country and handle these events according to Shari‘ah and reason. We must join forces and cooperate with our leader and scholars while giving advice with wisdom and good instruction.

This country is built on strong basics, fixed principles and an Islamic ideology. Whoever intends to harm this country, by means of violence, explosions, searching for faults, underestimating important issues or attacking the callers of this country, Qur’an memorization centers or Da‘wah centers, will not be successful. The country of the two Sanctuaries is a cohesive structure and a united entity that will destroy all irresponsible acts with the Will of Allah. This group or any other will not tamper with our traditions, security, values, curriculums, Virtue Commissions and Da‘wah centers. This country is the beacon of goodness guiding the whole world and it will remain as such, Allah willing. Those who aim at corrupting, destroying and altering our educational main traits wish to destroy the nation but they will certainly fail and be disappointed. Allah says: "And they say: 'If we follow the guidance with you, we would be snatched away from our land.' Have We not established for them a secure sanctuary (Makkah), to which are brought fruits of all kinds, a provision from Ourselves, but most of them know not." (Surah Al-Qasas, 28:57)

Send peace and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him), the master of the earlier and the latter, the mercy of mankind, as your Lord has ordered you. Allah says: "Allah sends His Salat (Graces, Honors, Blessings, Mercy) on the Prophet (Muhammad peace be upon him), and also His angels (ask Allah to bless and forgive him). O you who believe! Send your Salat on (ask Allah to bless) him (Muhammad peace be upon him), and (you should) greet (salute) him with the Islamic way of greeting (salutation i.e. As-Salamu ‘Alaikum)." (Al-Ahzab: 56)

O Allah! Send Your Salat (Graces, Honors, Blessings, Mercy) on the Prophet (Muhammad, peace be upon him), upon his Companions and upon those who followed his way in Da‘wah. O Allah! Be pleased with the righteous caliphs and the guided Imams: Abu Bakr, ‘Umar, ‘Uthman and ‘Ali and upon all the Companions and those who followed them righteously until the Day of Resurrection.

O Allah! Honor Islam and Muslims and disgrace polytheism and polytheists. O Allah! Destroy Your enemies and the enemies of Muslims.
